First open-access publication!
💡Exciting News! Last month, our first open-access publication was released! 🎉 Partners from VUB found that institutional selectivity still exists in CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) schools. This means that, despite all ideals and efforts, CLIL (in Flanders) remains elitist for now. 😔 Jill Surmont, project leader of Pluridentities, was interviewed about this on national radio. 📻 Want to learn more? Language-in-Education Policy in Aruba
On 28 October 2025, our team member from Aruba, Bart van Donselaar , led a thought-provoking session titled “Taal-in-onderwijsbeleid in het voortgezet- en beroepsonderwijs op Aruba, en de kansen voor meertalig onderwijs” ( Language-in-Education Policy in Secondary and Vocational Education in Aruba, and Opportunities for Multilingual Education ). Starting up a new phase!
As we wrap up the first phase of the project—having interviewed and surveyed many teachers and pupils—we are simultaneously launching the next phase. In this new stage, one key component will be establishing partnerships with schools and teacher training programmes and/or institutions that provide professional development for teachers. Project launch
The first of November Pluridentities officially started. After a warm-up period of twee weeks, the project really kicked off with a first partner meeting the 14th of November. We cannot say too much yet about what will happen, as we are still figuring everything out ourselves, but we can say that we are really excited about this project and look forward to everything this project will bring.
