Language-in-Education Policy in Aruba

On 28 October 2025, our team member from Aruba, Bart van Donselaar, led a thought-provoking session titled “Taal-in-onderwijsbeleid in het voortgezet- en beroepsonderwijs op Aruba, en de kansen voor meertalig onderwijs” (Language-in-Education Policy in Secondary and Vocational Education in Aruba, and Opportunities for Multilingual Education).

During the session, Bart engaged participants in a dialogue about the preliminary findings of a survey among teachers and students on language-in-education policy. Together, they explored opportunities and challenges in the current policy framework for promoting multilingual education and supporting the development of students’ home languages in secondary and vocational education.
