General Assembly in Amsterdam

🌍✨ From 19–21 May, the Pluridentities team came together for our General Assembly – three inspiring days of collaboration, reflection, and shared commitment to fostering plurilingual identities across Europe.

Europe’s linguistic diversity is one of its greatest strengths, yet this rich linguistic capital faces growing challenges. The increasing dominance of English as a lingua franca, the marginalisation of heritage and home languages, and the rapid rise of AI and machine translation technologies are all reshaping how languages are valued, learned, and used today.

At the same time, these challenges also create opportunities:

The Pluridentities project works closely with educators, researchers, policymakers, and stakeholders across Europe to develop sustainable guidelines, policies, and practices that recognise and stimulate the linguistic capital of all learners.

Because multilingualism is not just about communication – it is about identity, belonging, inclusion, and cultural richness. 🌱
